Emirates FA Cup: Colne FC v 1874 Northwich To Be Filmed

FA Cup action returns next weekend, with non league teams facing off against each other in the Extra Preliminary round.

And Up North Productions will be back in action as we cover the tie between Colne FC and 1874 Northwich, in what will be the first competitive game to be filmed by us in the 2022/23 season.

This FA Cup clash will take place at Holt House, Colne, on Saturday, August 6th.

Colne FC are based in East Lancashire and currently play in the Northern Premier League Division One West, as do their Cheshire opponents, who were founded in 2012 by supporters of Northwich Victoria.

It was one win apiece when these two sides met last season.

Reece Webb-Foster won it for Colne from the penalty spot in the last minute during their first clash of the 2021/22 campaign at Townfield.

Ashley Woods had given 1874 Northwich the lead after 13 minutes but Billy Hasler-Cregg levelled things up for the visitors eight minutes into the second half before Olatunde Bayode was brought down inside the penalty area late on.

Webb-Foster drove the resulting spot kick home to earn Colne FC all three points.

In the return game at Holt House in January, 1874 Northwich turned the tables on Colne FC, beating their Lancashire opponents 4-0 thanks to goals from Matthew Woolley (54' pen), Jamie Reed (61'), Matthew Woolley (69' pen) and Taylor Kennerley (80').

The two sides also faced off in the FA Cup Preliminary round back in 2016, Colne coming away with a 3-1 away win on the day in front of a crowd of 254.

Next weekend's game kicks off at 3pm.

We will bring all the action to you shortly after full time!

The match highlights will be available from 11pm!
