TV Fixtures For August Announced For West Lancs Football League...

It's that time of year again when the fixtures for the new football season are out and teams are looking forward to getting the new campaign underway.

As always, I will be out and about filming throughout the 2022/23 season, and the first game I can confirm that I will be covering is Crookland Casuals v Askam United in the West Lancashire Football League Division 2 on Tuesday, August 23rd, kick off 6.45pm.

I haven't filmed either of these teams before, despite numerous requests, so it's another to 'tick off the list', so to speak!

I will confirm a number of other games that I will be covering in the coming days and weeks.

Like the fixture mentioned above, I am aiming to get to as many teams as possible that have yet to be filmed by Up North Productions.

Around 18 months ago, I started carrying out polls on Twitter where I would ask teams to request their games to be filmed, the fixtures that received the most votes won!

I had around 100 teams to get through, I have successfully filmed a large chunk of those sides now, but there are still quite a lot of teams that I have yet to cover.

So this season I will be going through the fixture lists and finding those teams so they too get the exposure that all the other clubs have had after having their matches filmed.

I've certainly covered a fair few miles, and gone through quite a lot of petrol!

I am based in Lancaster, but I've travelled as far north as Kirkoswald (near Penrith), and as far south as Alsager.

I've filmed in Lancashire, Cumbria, Manchester, Cheshire, North Yorkshire. I think the only place I haven't been to yet is Liverpool!

But, no matter where those so far unsuccessful teams are from, I will do my best to film them all this season at least once!

So, stay tuned! More games will be announced soon! I may not be Sky Sports or BT Sports, but I am doing my bit for grassroots and non league football!
